Triple Forte brings together three of Canada's most prominent
soloists. violinist Jasper Wood, cellist Yegor Dyachkov
and pianist David Jalbert are now joining forces to create
powerful musical evenings that will thrill aficionados and
newcomers alike. This sought after piano trio has been capturing
critics' and audiences' attention with their passion, intelligence
and sensitivity, not to mention the sheer joy that they
bring to the stage. Separately, as soloists, these three
stars have delighted audiences internationally for years;
together, they now make up Canada's newest chamber music
asset.
DAVID JALBERT (Piano)
At 26 years of age, David Jalbert is already gaining recognition
as one of Canada's most remarkable pianists. A national
and international prize-winner, he boasts a wide-ranging
repertoire and a very warm and communicative style, which
has been hailed by critics and audiences alike in several
countries: "Jalbert dazzles with skill, style, and
taste", (Toronto Star) and; "Jalbert once again
impressed as a deeply musical pianist" (Cleveland Plain
Dealer). Mr. Jalbert is an equally accomplished chamber
musician, and enjoys a long-standing partnership with cellist
Denise Djokic. David Jalbert holds degrees from the Juilliard
School, Université de Montréal and the Glenn
Gould Professional School and has recorded for Endeavour
Classics and Sony Classical.
JASPER WOOD (violin)
Wood “has a control that’s rare in violinists
his age”….“complete mastery of the technical
fireworks required”....”gorgeous sound and brilliant
control”. These are only a few of the critical accolades
establishing Jasper Wood as one of the finest violinists
of his generation. He gave his first public performance
at the age of five, and has gone on to capture the hearts
of music lovers with his spellbinding virtuosity and unique
and sincere approach towards music. An internationally acclaimed
competition winner, Jasper Wood made his orchestral debut
at the age of thirteen under the baton of Georg Tintner.
Since then, he has performed extensively as a soloist and
chamber musician throughout North America. Jasper recently
received the Canada Council’s $25,000 Virginia Parker
Prize and was appointed to the Faculty of the University
of British Columbia. He performs on the 1700 'Taft' Stradivarius
violin.
YEGOR DYACHKOV (cello)
Proclaimed "Artist of the Year" by the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the Toronto Women's Musical
Club, and winner of the 2000 Young Canadian Musician Award,
the year 2000 provided ample confirmation that young cellist
Yegor Dyachkov, described as "extraordinarily masterful
and intense" (François Tousignant, Le Devoir,
Montreal), is destined to a brilliant career. Yegor Dyachov,
"clearly a very polished and sensitive cellist of great
class" (Olivier Philipponnat, Paru.com), has drawn
the praise of audiences and critics at home and abroad for
the intensity and richness of his playing, his remarkably
mature musicianship and the diversity of his repertoire.
